  • … historic

Our Plenary Building is far more than a venue – it's a piece of German history. Landmark political decisions were made here, and global strategies were developed here. Today, the building stands as a symbol of democracy and international dialogue and offers an inspiring setting for a wide range of events.

Things got underway in 1999. With the relocation of the German Bundestag, the former Plenary Building, the Wasserwerk, and the Pumpenhaus became a congress center – at the time still known as the Internationales Kongresszentrum Bundeshaus Bonn (IKBB).

In 2007, the groundbreaking for the expansion of the congress center took place, and the IKBB was given its current name, World Conference Center Bonn. The main building was officially opened in June 2015, and by the end of that same year, the Wasserwerk and Pumpenhaus were handed over to the UN.
